Qmx Trek pins with tape mounting

I read somewhere that the metal pins worn in the movie were mounted using double-sided tape.

If you own any of the Qmx badges, you know how awful these will look and feel on your uniform with the pin attachment and of course, the nasty pin holes in your costume.

I clipped off the pins and purchased this product from Walmart:

One of the reasons I chose this product was because it is translucent, which would help in hiding the fact your badge is taped on. Plus, it's strong stuff, so no need to worry about it falling off.

I layed a strip down and cut around the shape of the badge with a hobby knife. No real need to cover the whole thing, as shown below worked great, and you can see how transparent it is - good enough to still look virtually invisible behind the division insignia cutout:

I positioned the badge where I wanted, which I might add is WAYYY easier to do when you're not dealing with cloth-damaging pins, and pressed firmly down.
I did a "shake" test and was able to put the shirt on and pull it off without the adhesion budging.
It looks fantastic, flush against the shirt, a look you won't achieve with the pins.
If you ever need to remove the pin for washing the shirt, very slowly and carefully peel it off. It's great that it stays on and comes off when you need it to.

Before anyone gets on me for this, YES, I am wearing a Science division badge instead of the command.
I have a perfectly good and totally awesome explanation for this: I wear my command badge at work and haven't purchased a second one yet to try this method out on.

I hope this works for anyone who was looking for a great way to mount your badge to your uniform.
