First Stage Guild Navigator

Greetings all,

I have a burning desire to replicate a guild navigator outfit for Lynch's "Dune" to do as a costume for the next D*C.

I have no sewing skills or knowledge whatsoever, but I'm up for the challenge!

Here's a pic I found online of an actual screen worn outfit. The site says they were made "Black Nylon Exterior with Cotton Padded Interior" and another pic said "thickly padded polyester shell with heavy padded wool interior." (if you're interested, the site is here)





Now, I'm not asking for anyone to tell me how to do this from start to finish, I'm mostly just asking if anyone can give me pointers on where I can find info to get me started. I understand SOME things, but not enough to know how to do something this intricate. (well, intricate to ME.)


Anyway, thanks in advance for any info at all.
