Greetings
So I'm starting a project to make a mecha costume. I need it to be very light since it's a very large costume. I'm planning on using some .04 styrene and vacuum forming the pieces.
Since I won awards for being the worst at carving, I'm going to be using a pepakura file. So we all know that 110lb stock will not hold up to the vacuum and fiberglass mat/cloth and resin is the most common for reinforcing but i wanted to know other ways besides fiberglass. Im pretty sure just resining the outside will hold up.
Is there anything that can be sprayed or painted on the surface to reinforce it to the point to stand up to vacuum forming? Since most pieces are closed and have no way to reinforce the inside.
