Probably not the first time this has been asked. Did my measurements, and...I think something must be wrong. Debating a large on a used TFA jacket. (A more snug fit?)

Waist 31.5"

I just want to make sure that I have the right places to measure in regards to the suit, and want to make sure it's the right size before going in debt for it. the 48" is off of my other leather motorcycle jacket that fits like a glove, so I assume it's right. (Size 48) But the waist for the large (40.5) seems curiously large for my body.
