let me share with you my latest work costume-related: Jim Raynor's outfit from StarCraft 2:

I started this project later last year by ordering a pair of blue-camouflage-pants and a white longsleeve (I also started working out to get at least a little bit of muscle to go with the costume although I am definitely NOT aiming for Raynor's arms and shoulders :D )
Then I started working on the gun which I finished later last year
Also I worked on a belt-buckle. It is made from several layers of thick cardboard and was later cast in resin (I just have to figure out how to attach it to the gun-belt):
