Smoothing expanding foam?

Hey guys. I'm working on a functional xenomorph costume and need some suggestions on something.

ive built the head with expanding foam. So there are pores, holes cracks and creases. I'd like to know what I could get from say a home hardware, Canadian tire or Walmart, that may help me smooth those out.

Caulking is much too sticky to apply properly. Perhaps a wood glue or something? I made the teeth with drywall filler, but had to coat it in a few layers of plastidip. I'd rather the medium I use not be so brittle.

SoulCalibur - Nightmare build

After tossing the idea around in my head for a bit, I've decided to tackle my dream project! Out of all his appearances, Nightmare's debut look is my favorite, and that's what I aim to achieve.

Furthermore, I've never seen anyone build his SC1 outfit. The SCII design seems to be the most popular among cosplayers.

For this build, I'm using 6mm polyethylene foam from Cascade Tool and Foam Supply, 3mm craft foam, and Ozark Trail camping mats from my local Walmart. The arm will be made from foam pipe insulation and backer rod glued to a sleeve, with the hand being a separate piece. I've even worked out how to make the hand puppeteer-able!

So far, I've cut and glued the chestplate, tasstes, kneepads, left arm, and helmet.

I then gave the pieces a base coat of silver by spraying the paint onto a rag and wiping it onto the armor.

I then repeated the process with metallic blue.

Child's master chief costume

Hi gang. I want to make a dress for my wife like the one from the Matrix. (We had a pretty good Matrix Copley at Dragon con this year and my wife wants in on the fun. She looks pretty close to Monica in size and shape.) I know the real dresses are made of latex, but I don't want to try and learn to sew that material. I've read up on it and it's pretty fragile without the proper tools. Is there a material that will give the same look as latex. Thanks.

Hey Guys,
so I did some test sprays and I'm not happy with the quality ...
I went out and bought two harbor freight spray guns, the cheap ones.
one full size and one detail gun. Mix the glue with water , 50/50 , tried different settings on guns
different pressures, even a 10% water mix, and it's not laying down like spray paint.The 50/50 mix was spotty
like water drops, the 10/90 war stringy .
one of the test pieces fell and the impact caused the foam to bend and the few thin layers
of glue sorta cracked..... What the heck I'm I doing wrong over here.

A friend of mine said "Hey, why don't you do Lagertha's armor from Season 3".
I looked ad it and was thinking: "Hey, yeah, I can do that in 2 weeks" :facepalm

Then the research began and I realized really quickly that this will take me more than 2 weeks.

I've been researching for about a month to acquire as much info as possible to begin my Apple build and Turbo Kid for my boyfriend. There is very little info so I figured I'd share my findings and progress here. After extensive searches I finally found Apple's shoes. You can find them on Amazon.

ANOVOS Shadow Trooper Helmet adjustments?

Hi all!

I just received the ANOVOS Shadow Trooper helmet already built and "ready to wear" that I've been wait for for a long time. The Only problem is, I can't fit my head in it. On their site, ANOVOS advertised it as having "... size adjustment system ensures a comfortable and secure fit". I can't figure out how to adjust it to fit my head and I haven't found a place to learn how.

Is anyone willing to help?

Hi all,

I cosplayed Kevin Flynn from Tron (1982) at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con. This year, I'm rerezzing it for 2017 SDCC. Here's a link to my blogs on my work to date, which I update regularly:

Halloween 2016: Club Joker *

I've been wanting to do a Joker for the last few years so finally I decided to do it. I'm shooting for the club scene Joker like this

I used and asterisk because I leaving out or changing a few things.
- No forehead tattoo, just no.
- No ear ring bling.
- No metal grill. I don't like the look and I want to be comfortable.
- I may make the holster but I'm definitely not wearing it to a public event with everything going on. Private party I will include it.

I'm adding a few of my own props that aren't really canon.

I loved the villain Castor Troy. So I made this as a little prop.

MARS ATTACKS! Halloween Costume 2016

Hello! Thought I'd share the progress of my MARS ATTACKS! foot soldier costume I've been working on for the past couple of weeks. The head is about 80% finished. I have to papermache the bottom jaw and engineer a way to attach it and also make it move with mine (it'll probably be elastic and velcro), make the teeth and add the brain matter and then do finishing paint. I've ordered neoprene and a wetsuit pattern so that'll be next step. That'll be painted a jade(ish) color and then on to the back pack and chest armor and finally a pistol or rifle. Here are some progress photos from the past couple of weeks.

Aslo- if anyone has any other Mars Attacks costumes, I'd love to see them. Searches have yielded very little on the subject.

Does anyone know if the RPF is hosting a Halloween contest this year? I've only seen last years thread.

Batman vs Superman Templates.

I cant find any templates for the batman suit and the batman mech armor anywhere. I tried 4Shared but it keeps bring me to a site to download the new adobe flash when I have a 2016 laptop. can anyone help me find the foam templates and patterns for the BvS armor and mech armor. this has been really fusturating lol.

Hi everyone.
I'm wanting to make a Cosmo the Spacedog costume for my pet Schnauzer just like the one in Guardians of the Galaxy.
I'm just not sure where best to start.
Has anyone got any advice they could offer for making replica space suits on a canine scale? 😀
